Dallas Gutter Installation

Aluminum K style gutters being installed

Gutters are more than just rain diverters for your head. Professionally installed gutters offer your home many important protections.

An efficient gutter system is extremely important to the overall health of your home. Gutters are more important than just keeping the heavy rain off your head as you come and go. They divert water from eroding the soil away from your foundation which could deter some very expensive foundation repairs. They also are added protection from water damage to your home’s fascia and siding. It is important to maintain your gutters by cleaning them and having them inspected annually. Let’s take a look at some of the most popular options.

Seamless K Style Gutters

Seamless aluminum gutters are custom fitted for your home. Unlike the older gutter styles that were standard sized and pieced together to create a full system. These days your gutters are fabricated on-site and installed to properly fit your home and get rid of the all the extra seams that were prone to leaks. Seamless gutters are mostly found in 5 and 6” K style aluminum. K style gutters are what most people in Texas would consider your standard gutter.

Roof gutters

Half-Round Gutters

If you want all the function but more of the beauty, then a half-round gutter may be for you. These gutters are also seamless and fabricated for your home but have a higher end looks. They can be found in a variety of materials such as copper and aluminum. Half round gutters are the perfect finishing touch for homes with slate and tile roofs.

Steel Box Gutters

Steel Box gutters are typically found on commercial style applications but can also be found on residential homes as well. These are rarely seamless and typically are installed in 10’ sections. The benefits of this gutter are that they are capable of efficiently moving much more water and are also very durable. Steel box gutters are often paired with standing seam metal roofing for a handsome duo.

Leaf guard installed in gutters

Leaf Screen and Leaf Guard

A gutter that is full of leaves, twigs and other debris is not going to be able to work efficiently and, in some cases, not at all. Clogged gutters that overflow can cause damage to not only the fascia, siding and foundation as we spoke about before, but it can also cause damage to expensive landscaping and hardscapes. Baker Roofing & Construction offers several levels of protection for your gutters from basic leaf screen to a rounded mesh guard that offers much greater protection.

Splash Guard

There are some situations where even a large gutter will not handle the heavy rains. Sometimes adding more downspouts to the gutter design can be the answer, however, in some cases, this may not be possible. We recommend using splash guards in these circumstances. A properly placed splash guard on the gutter in the problem areas can keep the flow of heavy rains from overflowing your gutter troughs. Also, we can place these on the roof to divert and slow down the flow of the rainwater.

Rain Harvesting Systems

Once you are collecting the rain from your roof into the gutters and diverting it all to the areas you want it to be, why not collect it and use it for household watering needs. Baker Roofing & Construction can help you design a rain harvesting system that will alleviate some of your water costs and help keep your landscaping green and colorful. Rain harvesting systems can be very attractive with beautiful collection urns and barrels. Even adding a couple of well-placed rain chains instead of downspouts is both a wonderful way to harvest rain and create a relaxing focal point. No one said being sustainable could not be gorgeous too.
